Tampa Bay Buccaneers Looking Sad

By Dustin Green

The Tampa Buccaneers are one of the many teams in the NFL trying to start from the ground up and rebuild their franchise. After the Super Bowl win in 02' the Buccaneers haven't had much success.

The Bucs best season since winning the Super Bowl came in 05' when they finished 11-5 but lost to the Washington Redskins in the first round. Tampa Bays offense in 09' is abysmal scoring barely- points per game.

The old saying is that if you have two quarterbacks you have no quarterbacks - that is the case with the Bucs. Byron Leftwich and Josh Johnson are average QB's at best, no much more.

Not scoring any points in an NFL game just shows you how offensively challenged the Bucs are - that is what happened to the Bucs in week 3 against the New York Giants. The Giants did what they wanted and the Bucs had no answers the entire game. The defense is just as bad as the offense giving up more then 30 points a game.

The Bucs opened up its 2009 campaign with a game against the Dallas Cowboys. No one really knew what to expect of this game. The Cowboys were without Terrell Owens, and the game was being played in Tampa Bay, so some went so far as to predict that Tampa Bay would come away with a win.

The Bucs need to find a capable quarterback and build their defense up once again if they ever expect to be a force in the NFC South again like they once were.

QB Josh Johnson has been named the started of the Bucs - while it's too early to say what he is made of - if the Bucs were confident in his abilities he would have been named the starter over Leftwich to begin with.

An 0-3 start would be far from ideal for Tampa Bay, but with a game against the Giants, it may be in the cards. - 31493
