St. Louis Rams Continue To Suffer

By Edward Perera

The "greatest show on turf" of the St. Louis Rams achieved earlier in the decade has long been gone as of 2009. The Rams franchise has fallen off the map badly since the glory days of Kurt Warner and Marshall Faulk.

An entire overhaul of the team will need to take place - besides running back Stephen Jackson - if the Rams ever expect to be playoff contenders again. This is a big process and will take time.

The 09' season for the Rams won't be much better, if they get 4 wins that would be considered a successful season.

QB Marc Bulger and Kyle Boller are nearly identical when it comes to their stats -- which means it doesn't really matter which is in the game because the chance of the Rams winning doesn't improve.

Their defense isn't much better, the Rams rank as one of the worst defense teams in the league and opponents on offense can do whatever they please.

The only player the Rams have worth the price of a ticket is RB Steven Jackson. Jackson is averaging nearly 5 yards per rushing attempt in 09'. Jackson's best season up to this date was in 06' when he rushed for over 1,500 yards and- touchdowns.

The NFL has had fast turn arounds before - many feel this isn't possible with the Rams. The Dolphins in 07' went 1-15, 08' the Dolphins went 11-5. Whether that was a fluke or not the turn around was accomplished.

With nothing to lose, the Rams should draft a top quarterback in 2010, as their future may hinge on this position. - 31493
