The Ohio State Buckeyes has joined several games and tournaments which include the National Championships, CWS, NCCA Tournament and the Conference Tournament Champions. Even though the team has not won any major awards or tournaments, their persistence and diligence are what makes them stand out among all the other collegiate baseball teams.

For more than 20 years now, and counting, the team is blessed to be under the wing of Hall of Fame coach Bob Todd. He is responsible for making sure that the team steps up its performance after each game.

The Bill Davis Stadium has always been witness to the Ohio State Buckeyes' home games. The stadium can hold a roaring crowd of up to 5,500 people. The team can easily be set apart from its rivals because of its distinctive colors, Scarlet and Grey.

Ohio State Buckeyes has also produced some top quality players who have found their way in major league baseball. Some players include Nick Swisher, Steve Arlin, and Frank Howard.

Steve Arlin is another player that deserves attention. Arlin was born on September 25, 1945. He has a pitching record of 34-67 and an earned run average of 4.33. His total strike outs amounted to 463.

He started out with the San Diego Padres and played his first game on June 17, 1969. He stayed with the Padres, but decided to move to the Cleveland Indians on his last year in the major league and played his last game on September 14, 1974.

Another popular player that made it to major league in the early years was Frank Howard. He was born on August 8th, 1936. His debut game was for the Los Angeles Dodgers on September 10th, 1958. He did change to a number of different teams during his career.

Swisher, Arlin and Howard are just some of the Ohio State Buckeyes players that made it big in the major league tournaments. With such a rich historical record, and a reputable coach, the Ohio State Buckeyes is surely on its journey to success and victory. - 31493

Niners Nip Broncos As Orton Struggles In Denver Debut

By Ross Everett

Kyle Orton's debut as the Denver Broncos starting QB didn't go quite as planned. Orton, who was acquired from Chicago in the off-season, threw interceptions on each of his first three offensive series. San Francisco's offense didn't exactly light up the scoreboard, but it did do enough to eke out a 17-16 NFL preseason victory before their home fans.

The good news for Orton is that despite his three interceptions Broncos coach Josh McDaniels remained steadfast in his support. Orton appeared thankful of this fact in his postgame comments:

"That's great. That's certainly what you need in this league is the support of your coach. I'm not worried about it. I've got a lot of confidence in myself. I think my team has a lot of confidence in me. ... I don't want to make those decisions and throw three interceptions."

Orton was acquired after McDaniels relationship with NFL pro bowler Jay Cutler soured due to his effort"and subsequent denial"that he was trying to move the quarterback. Its been a rough start to Ortons tenure in Denver"he was even booed during a public scrimmage after throwing an interception.

McDaniels put Orton's struggles and the loss into perspective:

"I feel very confident in where we're at. There's no reason to start tailspinning into this and that when we've only had one preseason game."

Even when Orton got decent pass protection, San Franciscos rapidly improving defense was able to disrupt the passing lanes. Niners' cornerback Nate Clemens in particular was a huge factor, hauling in one of Ortons three miscues. After the game he commented on the play:

"I saw the route and played my responsibility and he threw it. I like seeing all of our defensive backs get interceptions and just making plays because we're game breakers."

Shaun Hill and Alex Smith are battling for the Niners' starting QB job and both played solid, if unspectacular, football. Hill spoke of his first preseason action:

"We were able to move the ball and we had a big conversion on third down. That last sack kind of hurt us. That was completely on me. The offensive line did a great job out there. So I'd like to have that play back and I feel like we could have gotten seven out of that."

Smith was just happy to be back on the field after missing the entire 2008 season due to injury:

"Obviously, I was raring to go when I got out there. It's been a long time for me, so I was pretty amped up."

The Broncos open the NFL regular season on Sunday, September 13th against the Bengals at Cincinnati. San Francisco will get the regular season underway on the same day as they head to Tempe, Arizona to face the Arizona Cardinals. - 31493

His first debut match was for the Chicago Cubs. He was drafted for the Cubs on September 13th, 2005 where he played his first game.

Aside from this, LSU has produced remarkable players that have been drafted to ply for major league baseball teams. This is enough proof that LSU is really a force to reckon with in the baseball playing field.

Iowa- A Great Sports Team And School

By Freddie Brister

The Northern Iowa Panthers, based in Cedar Falls Iowa, was known to be the baseball team of the University of Northern Iowa that took part in the NCCA Division I. With the discontinuation of the baseball program by the Northern Iowa University, there is longer a baseball team.

Their head coach during the time was Rick Heller who served for the team for a period of ten years. Their home stadium, Waterloo Riverfront Stadium had a capacity of holding up to 4277 fans and spectators. The nick name for the team was panthers. Seeing as baseball at university level no longer exits, we focus our attention towards the minor league teams.

Even if they are not as famous as other teams, the four Class A teams in the Midwest League known as Burlington Bees, Quad Cities River Bandits, Clinton Lumber Kings and Cedar Rapid Kernels, they too have produced some quality players who have reached a professional level. It is worthwhile taking a look at some of them who did make it to the major league.

Kenn Anthony Kasperk is one of them who received a draft from Chicago Cubs in the year 2004. Born on 23rd Sept. 1985 in Texas, he was very young when he received the draft and turned it down. In 2007 he received another draft from the Washington Nationals, which once again he turned down.

However, he decided to take up the offer from Seattle Mariners in 2008 and was drafted during the Major League Baseball draft in the 12th round. Kenn has made quite an impression early in his career with the Seattle Mariners.

He is known to be right handed for both batting and bowling. Seeing as he still has a good number of years to go, many are looking forward to see the progress that he achieves in the near future.

Another player of similar nature is Denny Almonte. Denny was born on September 24th, 1988 in Miami Florida. Even though he was younger than Kenn, he was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft. Denny was able to work on his game while playing little league during his school years.

It wasn't long till he tried for something more challenging at national level where his talent was noticed. Being a switcher in his batting and a right handed thrower, he has already caught the eye of many other teams. Depending on how he progresses in the future, there is a high chance that other teams may try to sign him on.

Famous coach, Jerry Nyman who trained players in the Midwest League for several years was a player himself and had initially played for the Chicago White Sox before becoming a coach. - 31493

Clemson - An All Out Sports Team

By Freddie Brister

The baseball team of Clemson is known to represent the Clemson University in the NCAA Division I college baseball. They are also known to be part of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The head coach at the current time is Jack Leggett. Since the early years, there have only been two coach changes.

Long before Jack Leggett took over coaching in 2000, it had been Bill Winheim who had coached the Clemson baseball team during the period from the 1970's to the 1990's. The Doug Kingsmore Stadium which is the Clemson home ground stadium is said to be able to accommodate a crowd of up to 6217 spectators and fans and is known to be the grounds on which the Clemson baseball team plays all their home games.

Their uniform colors have been burnt orange and northwestern purple. Clemson has always been seen as the one team that has been consistent with their wins. They have an average of 40 wins in the last 21 games. There are a number of players that have been able to go to Major league after leaving Clemson University.

Some of the great names include Jeff Baker, Brian Barnes, Kris Neson, Jerry Brooks, Mike Brown and many more. Some names are more familiar than others which are why we are going to take a look at those that are more common in much greater detail.

Scott Winchester who was born on the 20th April 1973 was a right handed pitcher and was one of the first from the Clemson University to go major League by signing in for Cincinnati Reds and playing his first game on 8th Sept. 1977. When Scott retired on 9th August 2001, having played his last game for the Reds, his performance was not really reflected in his stats which red as a 3:8 win loss ratio, an earned run average of 5.42 and 55 strike outs.

Ken Vining Ken Vining, who played as a pitcher, was born on 5th December 1974 and was a popular player who made his first appearance in Major League on 23rd May 2001 playing for Chicago White Sox. On 5th July 2001 however, he made his final appearance for the White Sox.

With an earned run average of 17.55 and just 3 strike outs, Vining's career statistics also did not show his real capabilities.

Matt White was a relief pitcher for the Red Sox. He was born on August 19th, 1977 and made his debut for the Boston Red Sox on May 27th, 2003. His career varied amongst a number of teams. Matt was known not only to play for Boston Red Sox, but also played for Seattle Mariners, Washington Nationals, Yokohama BayStars and the Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions.

Even though Matt was a good player in the field, his career statistics of a win loss ratio of 0:2, an earned run average of 16.76 and with just 3 strike outs, did not do justice to his capabilities on the field. - 31493

Sanchez Struggles As Ravens Top Jets In NFL Preseason Play

By Ross Everett

NY Jets rookie QB Mark Sanchez struggled early, though recovered to throw a TD before he left the game for the night. Despite the score, the Baltimore Ravens held on to defeat the Jets 24-23. The Jets scored a touchdown with :22 seconds remaining and could have tied the game, but was stopped on a two point conversion attempt. Baltimore improved to 2-0 on the NFL preseason while the Jets dropped to 0-2.

Sanchez, who is trying to win the Jets starting QB job threw an errant pass that was intercepted and returned for a touchdown on his first drive. After the game, he spoke of the play:

"Not obviously the way you want to start. I thought I was doing the right thing; I felt Ray come free on the right side from the protection. I was checking it down to the flat, perfect. Haloti just jumped right in front of the ball and made a really athletic play."

Ravens defensive leader Ray Lewis talked about the young QBs inexperience:

"You put a young guy like Sanchez in there and you see our defense, it can be difficult. You saw his eyes get big, and he was jumping around in the pocket. Bottom line: We gave a lot of looks and disguises and we confused him a little bit."

Sanchez agreed that it was a tough assignment:

"Oh, they were flying. They were flying around. You practice for it and you see it on film. These guys were doing it. You're trying to keep one eye on Ed Reed and one eye on Ray Lewis and a D-lineman gets you."

Jets head coach Rex Ryan was proud of how Sanchez faced up to the pressure:

"I'm proud of the way he responded. It ain't going to be perfect; sometimes you have these type of nights. You've got to give credit where credit is due, and most of that goes to their defense."

The Jets will continue their preseason slate as they take on their local rivals the New York Giants next Saturday night. Baltimore will travel to Carolina for a game against the Panthers. The Jets will get the NFL regular season underway on Sunday, September 13th as they travel to Houston to play the Texans. The Ravens will host the Kansas City Chiefs. - 31493

College Football Flashback: Trojans Top Buckeyes In College Football Heavyweight Clash

By Ross Everett

While not a vintage performance by their lofty standards, the University of Southern California Trojans overcame a number of mistakes to make big plays when they counted to prevail in a come from behind victory over Ohio State. Stafon Johnson capped a late game drive by scoring the game winning touchdown with just over a minute remaining as the Trojans won by a final score of 18-15. It was the first time the Trojans held the lead since early in the first quarter. The USC victory moved their record on the college football season to 2-0, while the Buckeyes dropped to 1-1. The Trojans have now won ten straight games against Big 10 opponents.

Ohio State did cash tickets for college football bettors, however, covering the spread as a +7 home underdog. USC won and covered last year, but the pointspread setback this year dropped the Trojans to a still impressive 13-5 ATS against the Big Ten conference since 1992. It was also only the second non-cover by a USC team in a non conference game in their last ten opportunities.

19 year old freshman Matt Barkley engineered the game winning touchdown drive. After the game, he spoke of the Trojan tradition of victory:

"We're Trojans. That's what we do. This is what we dreamed of, coming back like this. Doesn't matter where we are in the score. We found a way. I love this."

Tailback Joe McKnight sarcastically dismissed suggestions that Barkley was rattled by a Buckeye defense that had shut the potent Trojan offense down for the entire game:

"He was scared, really. No, he came in with the same composure he had the whole game. He was calm. He made plays."

USC coach Pete Carroll praised Barkleys composure in such an intense environment:

"He's not 19. He's our quarterback. I'm not worried about how old he is. Numbers mean nothing."

Ohio State linebacker Greg Rolle said his defense couldnt have played better"until the final drive:

"It's very frustrating, but we knew eventually they'd make plays. The last drive was heartbreaking. Give McKnight lots of credit on that last drive, he was good. The last drive was definitely, you go back and you think about, and you think about how close you came to winning.

Ohio State will travel to Toledo for a non-conference game before starting their Big 10 schedule at home against Illinois. USC now faces three straight Pac 10 games, starting next weekend on the road at the University of Washington. Theyll return home the following weekend for a game against Washington State. - 31493

The History Of The Rugby World Cup

By Adriana Noton

Rugby is a very popular sport throughout the world, and is played within all of the countries of the old British Empire and Commonwealth. The best countries are those that reside in the southern hemisphere such as New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa. In addition to this certain British countries such as England, Ireland, and Wales, as well as France are consistently competing at the highest level. Every four years there is a Rugby World Cup is held in order to find out which is the best team in the world.

The first of these tournaments was held in Australia and New Zealand in 1987. The inaugural tournament was won by the dominant team New Zealand in a final against France where the margin of victory was 29 points to 9.

Four years later the Rugby world cup came to Europe and was hosted by Great Britain throughout different stadiums in England, Ireland, and also France across the pond. For this tournament, a qualifying tournament was used to decide the final lineup of the 32 teams that were to compete. Four years ago it had been an invite only tournament, but now some of the lesser-known countries had to go through qualifying periods in order to make sure they got into the tournament.

On this occasion in 1991, the cup was won by Australia, keeping the heritage of rugby are firmly set down in the southern hemisphere. The hosts England were beaten at home by 12 points to 6 at the home of rugby at Twickenham.

Four years later in 1995 the tournament was first set up in South Africa. This was a very grand moment in the history of rugby as South Africa were allowed to compete in the first time due to the end of apartheid and the boycott against them on the world sporting scene.

South Africa were relatively un-fancied as a team to win the tournament, but they had some great sporting players in the team. However with a fantastic home crowd behind them, they rose up through the tournament and managed to get the final against the powerhouse of world rugby New Zealand. In a thrilling encounter they managed to overturn New Zealand by a small margin of just three points and became the champions of rugby the first time at their first attempt.

In 1999 the World Cup was hosted primarily by Wales at matches were also played throughout the countries of the five Nations. At this World Cup one of the biggest upsets in the history of the game took place as one of the home European Nations France defeated the all Blacks by a relatively heavy margin in the final. However they were to be overturned by Australia in the final by 35 points to 12 in a fairly one-sided affair.

By 2003, the dominant team in world rugby had for the first time changed from being New Zealand and other teams from the southern hemisphere and the first time England were the team to beat at the tournament. With the great Johnny will concern at number 10 and his trusty left boot in order, England were favourites to overturn New Zealand if they were to meet them. However this was not necessary, as Australia turned up and managed to defeat New Zealand on home turf, meeting England in the final in the greatest ever be much played. True to form, they will concern provided the finishing touch to a magnificent effort by the England team.

In 2007 in France, England against all the odds manage to get to the final for a second time running and a third time in total. However they were defeated in a close game by South Africa who managed to lift the trophy for a second time in four attempts. In 2011 the World Cup will be set in New Zealand? Will it the most powerful team in the world finally be able to win it again? - 31493

Can the Dallas Receivers Fill Owens' Void?

By Sandy Thompson

I know T.O. is a very talented WR, but I think the Cowboys will be fine without him. Not all the pressure has to be on the WR's to make up for the loss of him. The Cowboys have 2 very good offensive TE's in Witten and Bennett, and have one of the best RB groups in the NFL. Getting Felix Jones back will play a big role in making up for T.O.'s production. Just keep all that in mind as you read this.

1. Roy Williams Age: 27 (6'3" 220 lbs 4.42 40 yard dash). When you look at his career stats, most assume he is not a legit #1 WR, but don't forget how talented this guy is. His biggest problem to me is that he has only played in all 16 games once, out of his 5 seasons. He has only reached 1,000 yards once, but I think that is more about injuries and playing in Detroit than it is his talent. He has all the tools that it takes to be a top receiver in the NFL, and hopefully he will prove all the haters wrong. There are a couple reasons that I believe he can show us what he is capable of. Last year's performance with Dallas was most likely just him not being comfortable, and Romo feeling the need to keep trying to get the ball to T.O.. He actually had more yards in 5 games with Detroit than he did in 10 games with the Cowboys (Which shows that his 10 games with Dallas last year are not an accurate assessment of what to expect). I really expect him to be much better now that he has had more time to work with Romo, and the rest of the offense. Also, this is a guy that averages 14.5 YPC (T.O. 14.9 career YPC), which is pretty decent. It's not great, but it's good enough. Basically, if he can stay healthy, he has a good chance of getting 1,000 yards, and at least reaching his career high of 8 touchdowns in a season.

2. Patrick Crayton Age:30 (6'0" 203 lbs 4.58 40 yard dash according to USA Today). I don't know about you, but when I think about Crayton, I have trouble getting over the dropped pass in the playoffs a couple seasons ago. But we have to put that behind us. He has good strength and hands, and has only missed 1 game the past 3 years. In those 3 years, he has been very consistent with his production. He has produced between 500 and 700 yards each season, while notching 15 touchdowns during in that time. I like Crayton, just not as the #2. I think he is the type of guy that is perfect for the slot. He can find the openings in defenses, and isn't afraid to go over the middle. If he can put up another 500 yard season, and get a few touchdowns, I think he has done his job well. Lets just hope he is still getting better at the age of 30. We may only have a couple seasons till he starts to decline, which isn't good for a guy who is a role player.

3. Miles Austin. Austin possesses more upside than Crayton due to his age, as well as his big playmaking ability. Austin had a very high average yards per catch in 2008, and while there weren't so many catches (he wasn't a starter for the team), he showed his ability to make big plays and to find the end zone.

Austin's may end up seeing many of the passes that Owens saw in previous seasons; the deep Romo bombs are a nice fit given Austin's raw speed, and lining up in the slot will throw many offenses off should Austin make an impact in Dallas.

4. Sam Hurd. Like Austin, Sam Hurd is a young receiver on the rise with great speed. He has the local media abuzz with his great play in training camp, but the same thing occurred last season, and Hurd made little impact during the regular season.

There really isn't much else to say about him, he just needs to stay healthy, and keep up what he is doing in training camp. Let's hope it translates into regular season production. I could see him putting up 400 yards, and a few touchdowns, as the 4th receiver. Now, I know he is in the battle just as much as Crayton and Austin, but I just don't see him moving up the depth chart till next year at the earliest, barring injuries of course.

Short of these four wide receivers, I don't see anyone else at the position making much of an impact in Dallas next season. There's some talent to be tapped into, and a top NFL quarterback passing them the ball. Hopefully this will be enough to win some games. - 31493

NFL Rumor Mill: Packers Interested in Michael Vick

By Fernando Roman

The Packers have gone on record by saying they have not ruled out signing free agent Michael Vick. It has also been reported that the Packers are considering signing Vick to a contract. While I am not a big fan of Vick with the dog fighting and beating the Packers on Wild Card Weekend in 2002, he could be a good asset to an already good offensive team. He could add that extra dimension that the Packers are looking for. Here are the pros and cons for the Packers if they sign Vick.

Pros: Vick has the ability to line up as WR in a wildcat offense. He can throw the football which if you play as a WR is a big boast to any player or team. Every team is looking for different ways to score and in an offense that is mostly west coast, having a different type of offensive plays will be a big boast to the packers and it will help Aaron Rodgers. Over his 6 year career with the Falcons Vick had 3,859 rushing yards, and 21 TD runs, and he was a quarterback!!

Vick would obviously be a backup to Rodgers should he join the team, but a team never knows when its backup will be called upon. So many teams have seen their chances blown when their starting QB goes down with injury, and the prospect of Michael Vick as backup to Rodgers could somewhat shield the team should Rodgers be hurt.

Cons: One of the drawbacks with Vick is that he isn't a great quarterback. Even though he has 71 TDs he also has thrown 52 interceptions, and even though he is a mobile quarterback he was sacked 187 times when he was with the Falcons, he also averaged about 6 yards lost every time he was sacked, which no team including the packers want.

Vick's completion percentage was also low at about 54% in a west coast offense like Green Bay having a low completion percentage is not a good thing. Vick's quarterback rating is also 75.7 which is not a rating you are looking for in a west coast offense quarterback.

Skills aside, there's another negative that comes with Vick's potential involvement, and that's the criticism and controversy the Packers will stir up should they sign him. Vick's dog fighting scandal still hasn't left the public eye, and the media may be wary of this move.

Is he a good fit? I feel that Vick in green and gold next year will be good for the team. It gives them a different way to score and can help them in many ways. Even though Vick beat the Packers in '02 the fans will probably welcome him with open arms.

Then again, Green Bay is one of the smallest media markets in the country, so Vick may not attract the attention that he would in a major city. Perhaps we should really focus our attention on Aaron Rodgers, who may have the most at stake from a Michael Vick signing. Would the speedy quarterback help or hurt him? - 31493

The Chicago Bears - A Hopeful 2010 Season

By Matt Ryan

The Chicago Bears, beloved NFL franchise since 1919, have had many glorious years, with many more to come. This is one of those old-time teams that has a place in the hearts of thousands; a team full of passion and fight, a team that does what it takes to get to the end. Two short years after they were founded, the Bears began their rivalry with the Green Bay Packers, one thing fans can count on year in and year out. One year after this rivalry began, the Bears took their current colors, and have kept them ever since. That is one of the great things about this team, besides their talent, the fact that they are stable and are not going anywhere anytime soon.

Back in the day, the Chicago Bears played scrimmage games on what is known today as Wrigley Field -- the Cubs home field. Since then, obviously, the Chicago Bears have gotten their own field to call home -- Soldier Field. Due to the age of the stadium, it was remodeled earlier this century, leaving only the street side wall from the original architecture. By 2003, the Chicago Bears were playing in their newly built stadium, now known as Soldier Field II.

Over their career, the Bears have never had a problem with ticket sales, and quickly became one of the most demanded teams on the league; so much so that their ticket sales are in the top 20 across the NFL. The teams annual cash flow is one of the highest in NFL history at a calculated $1.1 billion; there if no need for fans to worry about losing their team. The team has stood the test of time, over the years, and proven to fight for what they want. Not that they need it, but they brought a new quarterback on board in April of 2009, a quarterback by the name of Jay Cutler, one of the leagues greatest quarterbacks of all times. There is no doubt that Cutler helped the Bears in their 2009 season.

The team has retired many numbers / jerseys over the years, many of which belonged to phenomenal players and even some original team members from the beginning of their career. Bill George, George McAffee, George Halas, Sid Luckman, Harold Grange, Walter Payton, and many others join the ranks of retired Chicago Bears numbers. The team -- staff and players -- have proven them to be one of the greatest professional football teams of all time, and will continue to fight for this recognition. There is no doubt that the Chicago Bears will continue to provide fans and sports enthusiasts with amazing entertainment for years to come.

There is nothing quite like being at a football game and hearing the players throw each other around the field. The sweat, grunting, play calls, and yelling are enough to get anyone excited about the game. Many say you don't really experience football until you see the Chicago Bears play, especially live. This will be another astonishing year for the team. Don't miss you chance to see them play, live, at Soldier Field II. - 31493

By Lawrence Fader

Technology advances have made it possible to watch live sport matches for free from your computer. We know many are addicted to football, car race, golf, billiard, basketball, and other popular sports.

The P2P programs released on Internet have all the advantages. You can download any of the eight available in the current time and start watching your favorite live matches. Remember, they are free.

These p2p programs all work in relatively the same way, firstly you install the freeware program onto your computer. Within each program is a channel list, when the channel you want to watch is clicked on it will launch in the player.

P2P programs get the channels free of charge because there are other sport fans like you who want to share their signals. Anyone who has TV card can also share with their friends or others. In sports, it is great when you have mates to share the enthusiasm of watching live matches.

Actually there is something else. The signal works in synergic. Meanly, when more people watch the same channels at a time, then the signal caught by their computers will be stronger.

Currently Sopcast and TVU seem to the most popular p2p program to use, probably because they are both Spyware / popup free and thousands of channels can be found from ESPN, Star Sports, Sport Channel 1, 2, 3 and 4, SHTV, Guangdong Sports, the list is endless.

Up to now, over 2 million users have downloaded Sopcast onto their computers. The amount of actual viewers is of course higher since many share their signals to other sport fans. PPlive was formerly a popular P2P program, but it has limited broadcast nowadays. PPlive is no longer used except in China.

The football games that can be found on these channels include all English and European football leagues, Champions League, International football, russian football leagues, Chinese Ultra League, again the list is pretty much endless. Outside of football you can also find live cricket, tennis, boxing, American Football, Ice Hockey and any other popular worlwide sports.

All you need to access the live matches free of charge is a computer and Internet access. - 31493

Cleveland Manages To Beat Buffalo Despite Offensive Struggles

By Ross Everett

In a matchup between two of the worst offenses in the NFL, someone had to win. Despite producing only 9 first downs and'3 yards of total offense, the Cleveland Browns got a late game field goal from Billy Cundiff to defeat the Buffalo Bills 6-3 and win their first game of the season. The Bills had the more productive afternoon statistically, with- first downs and 288 yards of offense but were undone by three costly turnovers. Both teams are now 1-4 on the 2009 NFL season. Neither team appears to be headed anywhere but down in the NFL standings.

To successfully bet on the NFL, one needs to find opportunities to play underdogs"this is particularly true in games where neither team is expected to put many points on the board. Such was the case here, as Cleveland easily covered the pointspread as +6 road underdogs. Both teams are now 2-3 against the number on the season. The Browns have now won and covered the last three head to head matchups between the teams. The 9 points scored came nowhere near the total of 41 for an easy UNDER.

It was a game without many highlights. The Browns got on the board first with a 24 yard Cundiff field goal in the second quarter, and took that 3-0 lead into the locker room at halftime. Buffalo would tie the score in third on a Rian Lindell 36 yard field goal. That would set the stage for Cundiff to nail the game winner from' yards out with: 23 left to play. Despite todays victory, Cleveland is averaging a woeful 11 points per game this season. Buffalo's PPG numbers are slightly better thanks to decent scoring output in their first two games of the season--theyre averaging just over 15 points per contest. In the Bills last three games, however, theyre averaging a meager 6.6 points per game.

The real loser in Sundays contest may have been Buffalo head coach Dick Jauron. Many were surprised that he was retained after the Bills third straight 7-9 season last year and things have gone from bad to worse so far in the 2009 NFL season. Buffalo has lost to winless teams in back to back weeks, part of a three game losing streak. Overall, the Bills have wound up losers in 12 of their last 15 games. Not that Cleveland has done much better--the win today ended a 10 game losing streak, one short of the all time franchise record. There are at least a few signs of hope in Cleveland, the same can't be said for Buffalo.

Cleveland will have a tough road assignment next Sunday, heading to Pittsburgh to face the World Champion Steelers. Theyll return home for a game against the Green Bay Packers on October 25th before playing the Chicago Bears in The Windy City the following week. Buffalo will play the next two on the road, heading to the Meadowlands next Sunday for a game against the New York Jets followed by a trip to Charlotte, NC to take on the Carolina Panthers. Theyll return home on November 1st to face the Houston Texans. - 31493

The Most Substantial Happenings In The Indy and New Orleans Super Bowl

By Gil Rojas

For the third straight year, football fans enjoyed a competitive Super Bowl game that has often left fans disappointed after sitting through many blowouts in recent years.

Now, the Indianapolis Colts were heavily favored to come away with the victory at the Super Bowl, but, much to everyone's surprise, the New Orleans Saints won instead. This was largely due to the fantastic way that Drew Brees and the rest of the Saint's offense performed in the game; however, their defense did equally as well when dealing with the Colt's quarterback, Peyton Manning.

Let's take a look at a few of the top stories from Super Bowl XLIV. If you missed out on the game, here are the things you should know about.

He started off a little shaky, but once that passed, Drew Brees had an almost perfect game. He began it by only getting three completions from the first seven attempts, but then he went on to complete 29 out of the next 32 attempts. He finished the game with an impressive total of 32 completions out of 39 attempts with 288 yards, no turnovers and 2 touchdown passes.

These statistics are truly superb and, of course, Brees received the award for giving such an efficient performance as a quarterback in this Super Bowl.

Perhaps just as impressive was the performance of the young Saints kicker Garrett Hartley, who made all three of his field goal attempts. Having successfully made kicks from 44, 46, and 47 yards, all of these were integral to the team's victory, and extremely clutch considering that the Saints trailed the Colts when he made two of his kicks.

And finally, when the game was over, Peyton Manning did something that you just don't see in the Super Bowl. The quarterback for the Colts did not offer congratulations to or even shake hands with any of the players on the Saints team - he just quickly walked off the field.

It's customary for the losing team's players to congratulate the winners, so many are calling Manning's act one of poor sportsmanship. Drew Brees, on the other hand, said that he understood Manning's frustration and doesn't hold anything against him for it. - 31493

The Most Accomplished Quarterbacks In Football Square Off At The Super Bowl

By Michael Lomax

If you were to ask a football fan to name the best two quarterbacks in the league, you'd likely be told that Drew Brees and Peyton Manning earn this distinction. Through the course of the season, these two players led their teams to many wins, and ultimately the Super Bowl.

It should be fitting that the two of them will square off during the final game of the year. Both of them had what many believed to be career years, and more importantly, both of these teams were seen as the best in their respective conferences to start things off.

These have both been great teams throughout the year. In fact, they were the last two teams to lose a regular season game and many were predicting undefeated years for both of them after they remained undefeated well into December.

Neither the Colts nor the Saints finished out the season without a loss. In fact, each team lost two games, each for their own reasons. Still, this was enough to secure home field advantage, which clearly helped to secure a Super Bowl berth for each team.

When Indianapolis and New Orleans meet up with one another, fans will all agree about the fact that the winner will probably come down to the team with the more effective quarterback.

This is different from the last few Super Bowl meetings we've seen. If you look at the previous two winners in the Steelers and Giants, both teams won the game on the heels of a strong defense.

This year, it looks like offense is the name of the game. While each team has an efficient defense that is largely responsible for the team's success, it really comes to down to each quarterback's poise, precision, and hunger on the field.

This may very well be one of the highest scoring Super Bowls we've seen in recent years. As great as defensive battles can be, this will be an extremely refreshing change from the usual. - 31493

Football Offensive Line Drills Guidelines For Implementing Them Yourself

By Masina

Offensive Linemen are some of the most important players in football. It is up to them to make sure that all of the offensive plays run smoothly. If not than the offensive team doesn't score and the game can't be won. It is for this reason that they have to be on top of their game and making plays correctly.

Being in shape plays a huge role in these linemen's lives. It is essential that they get in shape and stay in shape for their careers and for their positions on the team. If there happens to be one person who can't keep up that is potentially a problem for the rest of the team.

One of the commonly used line drills includes using a lineman and 2 defensive lineman on a hill. The point of the exercise is for the lineman to drive the other two up the hill while swapping between them on the command of a whistle. This helps teach the lineman how to engage quickly and with a lot of speed and power. The whistle acts as a way to shift their attention onto another possible defender as quickly as possible. Doing it on the hill of course helps to build more muscle and stamina.

There is a 2nd drill that also focuses on building strength, stamina and speed. It involves the use of the blocking shields. If you have ever seen any TV show or other football related movie than chances are you have seen one of these shields. The point of the exercise is for the linemen to get in the ready position and then to push against the shield as quickly and as heavily as they can for a duration of set time.

As you can see these football offensive line drills are anything but easy and involve a lot of effort on the players part. This is how the players are built into perfect football players. - 31493

Alouettes Survive Tough Challenge From Roughriders To Remain Atop CFL

By Ross Everett

The Montreal Alouettes withstood a tough challenge from the Saskatchewan Roughriders to win their 7th game of the season by a 34-25 margin. Montreal remained atop the CFL with a 7-1 record, while the Roughriders slipped to 4-4. Als rookie QB Chris Leak scored the winning points, flawlessly converting on a third down goal line situation that also happened to be the first play of his CFL career.

After the game, Leak focused on earning the trust of his teammates as he recounted his high pressure introduction to CFL football:

"It's a about trust - that's the number one thing. I'm just happy for the opportunity to earn the trust of the coaches and my teammates."

The Alouettes swept the season series from Saskatchewan, having won 43-10 in Regina in early July. Saskatchewan has only won twice in their past eleven trips to Montreal.

Saskatchewan starting QB Darian Durant willingly accepted the blame for the loss, but Riders coach Ken Miller said in his postgame comments that there was plenty of responsibility to go around:

"It's a team game and the fault doesn't lie with any individual. Darian played probably his best. He turned the ball over three times, but he made plays with his feet and was a leader for us. I'm really proud of the way the men battled, but our team still needs to be tuned up some."

On the positive side, the Roughriders sacked Alouettes QB Anthony Calvillo four times and moved the ball well on offense. Durants favorite target on the day was Weston Dressler, who caught eight passes for 179 yards and after the game gave a glass half full assessment of his teams performance:

"We were in it until the end. I think we showed we can complete with the best team in the league and I think we just have to keep working at it. We're really close to being a great football team."

Both teams will enjoy a bye next weekend, with Montreal returning to action on Friday, September 4th as they travel to Vancouver to play the BC Lions. The two teams will rematch at Montreals Molson Stadium the following week. Saskatchewan will return to action on Sunday, September 6th as they host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. - 31493

Vikings' Peterson Should Play Despite Minor Back Pain

By Ross Everett

Brett Favre may get all of the headlines for the Minnesota Vikings, but NFL insiders are well aware that running back Adrian Peterson is the key to the teams offensive success. Peterson's threat alone is enough to open up options for the passing game. He's definitely more than a decoy, however--after winning the NFL rushing title last year hes already off to a great start with 272 yards and four touchdowns in only two games.

There's been a good deal of concern this week in the Twin Cities media about Peterson's health. Specifically, there are questions about the severity of a back injury suffered last weekend. Peterson has been limited in his practice activities all week as a precaution, though both he and QB Favre as listed as probable on the NFLs official injury report. Peterson's back is the reason for his inclusion, while Favre is dealing with a minor finger sprain.

The NFLs leading rusher tried to downplay the significance of his injury in comments to reporters:

"God willing, I will be out there playing. Not a big deal at all."

He launched into a comedy routine when asked for details on the injury. Asked when the injury occurred, Peterson quipped:

"It happened, like, a week back. But that's all behind me now."

Vikings offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell didnt sound too concerned:

"I'm comfortable with where he's at. I know he's been working hard to rehab. ... Right now, I think he's going to be OK, but we have to continue to go throughout the week with that."

Peterson ran for 92 yards and a touchdown against the Detroit Lions last weekend. His presence alone makes things much easier for the Vikings passing attack"opposing teams often put 8 or 9 men along the line of scrimmage to try and stop him, giving QB Brett Favre a great opportunity to get the ball downfield to his receivers in single coverage. Without him in the lineup, defenses have an easier time rushing Favre and covering receivers downfield.

The Vikings host a team known for their own potent running game this weekend, as the San Francisco 49ers come to town. Theyll remain at home the following week as the Green Bay Packers pay a visit for a game on Monday Night Football. A road game will follow, as the Vikings will head to St. Louis to face the lowly Rams on October 11th. - 31493

Virginia Tech Survives Tough Challenge From Duke

By Ross Everett

Duke University is far from being a national college football powerhouse, but they're no longer a team you can take lightly either. #6 ranked Virginia Tech found that out on Saturday, and what they expected to be an easy afternoon became a tightly contested affair. Ultimately, the Hokies would survive for a 34-26 road victory. Virginia Tech improved their record to 4-1, while Duke dropped to 2-3 on the 2009 college football season.

Despite the straight up loss, Duke won where it counted as they rewarded sports players who bet on college football with the ATS victory as +17 home underdogs. Duke evened their mark at 2-2 in their lined games, while the Hokies dropped to 2-3 against the spread. The 60 combined points scored went well OVER the posted total of 48. Virginia Tech has gone OVER in 3 of 5 games this year, while Duke has gone OVER in all three of their games with posted totals.

The Hokies were saved by the career day posted by their quarterback, Tyrod Taylor. After the game, Taylor modestly downplayed his own impact on the outcome of the game:

"I know we have a lot of talent on the offensive side of the ball. It's just my job to get the ball to them."

Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer noted:

"I don't think that's the old Duke football team.

Blue Devils coach David Cuttcliffe said his team is reaching the point where moral victories don't provide enough satisfaction:

"We got close enough in the fourth quarter to go beat a great team. Once you taste that, you like it. I wouldn't say we spit it out -- it wasn't a choke -- but we just didn't finish."

Despite getting the win, Hokies coach Beamer was critical of his teams performance:

"Too many penalties and too many long plays. We weren't as sharp as we would like, but I don't think it was lack of effort. Part of it was Duke, and part of it was us. ... Sometimes I think you've just got to win some games that's not real pretty on the road, and this is probably one of those."

Still, he praised his team for doing what they needed to do to preserve the victory:

"When we needed to run the football, and we did, and got points, that was critical to this ball game. They were going to take the run away, so you've got to be able to throw the ball."

Virginia Tech will host Boston College next Saturday before traveling to Atlanta the following weekend for a game against Georgia Tech. Theyll enjoy a bye week before a nationally televised Thursday night game at home against North Carolina on October 29th. Duke will play at North Carolina State next Saturday before a bye week. Theyll return to action at home on October 24th against the University of Maryland and play on the road at Virginia the following week. - 31493

A Discussion About Sport Betting

By Angelo Bucco

Gambling has been around for as long as anyone can remember. The need to bet on whether something will come to pass reflects a basic part of human psychology. Sports too is something that people have always been interested in. So it makes sense that people would combine the two events, and form sport betting.

Horse racing has been something that people have gambled on for hundreds of years. Horses run very fast, so people like the excitement of the race. The only thing more exciting is to bet some money on the result, so that the element of risk is involved.

A person who is going to bet should be familiar with the terminology used in gambling, so that he or she understands what gamblers are talking about. They should know what the word odds means. Odds deals with how likely someone is likely to win. So for example, if the odds are high that a horse will win the race, then you will get only a little profit if you bet on that horse to win. On the other hand, if the horse's chances of winning are low and you happen to bet on it, you can win lots of money.

If you want to bet, the person to approach is the bookie. He is the individual who collects money for the bets, and gives you odds for each game that you gamble on. If you win the bet, he will give you your winnings.

Gambling on professional sports is widespread. Just about any sport you can think of, whether it be golf or boxing or football, has people gambling on it. Men are naturally interested in sports because of their biological makeup. But sometimes they crave even more excitement, and thus they bet.

In order for gambling to legally take place, it must be registered with regulatory agencies and follow all kinds of rules and restrictions. The promoters must also pay large fees. For these reasons, there are few legitimate gambling organizations. On the contrary, most are illegal and are run without the government knowing about it. Of particular concern is that many criminals are involved in it, and these people are not shy about using violence to make money. It is safest to stay away from such illegal operations.

There is another problem with betting on sports, and that is that many people are becoming gambling addicts. Just as people are addicted to drugs and alcohol, the thrill of winning money causes them to make rash choices. All they think about is winning, but the thought that they could also lose money does not occur to them. This is a dangerous predicament because they are not capable of acting rationally, and may even go so far as to gamble away their houses. If a person has an addictive nature, they should stay away from betting.

Sport betting can be a fun activity between friends who share an interest in a sport. When there is money riding on the result, it makes the outcome more interesting. But the danger is that people could become addicted to this kind of excitement. Moderation is very important when gambling. One should always bet what one can afford to lose. - 31493

Panthers Top Redskins For First Win Of 2009 NFL Season

By Ross Everett

The Carolina Panthers finally got one in the win column on Sunday afternoon, using a furious second half comeback to defeat the slumping Washington Redskins 20-17. Washington led 17-2 early in the third quarter before Carolina scored the final 18 points of the game to earn the victory. Jonathan Stewart's eight yard fourth quarter run for a touchdown with a successful two point conversion completed the Panthers comeback. Carolina improved to 1-3 on the season while Washington dropped to 2-3.

NFL betting devotees who backed Washington as +5 road underdogs were finally rewarded for their faith as the Redskins covered for the first time this season. The Redskins are now 1-4 against the spread while the Panthers remain winless against the money at 0-4. The 37 combined points just managed to stay UNDER the posted total of 38. Washington has gone UNDER in four of five games this season, while Carolina evened their NFL totals mark at 2-2 on the year.

Redskins coach Jim Zorn is now on the hotseat after another defeat. The Redskins started the 2008 season 6-2, but are only 4-9 since then. The biggest problem this year has been offensive productivity"heading into this game the Redskins were averaging a mere 14 points per game. By that metric, the 17 points they put up in the first contest under new offensive coordinator Sherman Lewis has to seen as a marginal improvement.

The victory, meanwhile, may have taken at least some of the pressure off of Panthers QB Jake Delhomme who is suffering through an awful season. Delhomme threw for 181 yards against Washington with one touchdown and one interception. Delhomme now has eight interceptions in four games this season, contributing greatly to the -8 turnover margin that the Panthers took into Sundays encounter. After the game, he expressed relief at getting a win under his belt:

"Anything that could have gone wrong the first month or so has gone wrong. We'll take it any way we can get it."

His Washington counterpart Jason Campbell was efficient, if not spectacular, with 145 yards and one touchdown with no interceptions. In another bright spot for the Redskins, Clinton Portis scored his first rushing touchdown of the season early in the fourth quarter. He had caught a pass for a touchdown to open the Washington scoring in the first quarter. Portis was expected to carry much of the Redskins' offensive load but has largely been a non-factor.

The Panthers will now try to string together a short winning streak as they head to Florida next Sunday to play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Redskins will play their next two games at home and then enjoy a bye week. Theyll welcome the Kansas City Chiefs to FedEx Field next Sunday, followed by the Philadelphia Eagles the following week. Theyll return to action after the bye week on November 8th, taking on the Atlanta Falcons at The Georgia Dome. - 31493

#1 Florida Routs Hapless Troy State

By Ross Everett

The 2009 college football season is already two weeks old and so far its looked almost too easy for defending national champions Florida. That was expected last week, as they destroyed overmatched FCS opponent Charleston Southern 62-3, but it wasn't much harder today against a better class of opposition. QB Tim Tebow threw for four touchdowns and ran for a fifth as the Gators demolished Troy State 56-6.

Despite a generous head start from the pointspread, Troy State lost against the money as well. Florida covered as -37 home favorites"their third straight ATS cover as a favorite of 31 or more. The Gators also won and covered the last time the two teams met, cashing tickets for college football betting enthusiasts as a -26 favorite in 2007. The 65 points scored just barely made it OVER the generous total of 61.

After the contest, Florida coach Urban Meyer gave most of the praise to a defense that limited Troy to 139 yards of total offense:

"Defense is the name of the game today, and that defense was dominating.

Troy State played tough against Ohio State in 2008, but this time coach Larry Blakney was just glad the game was over:

"We just close our eyes and pretend we never came here. But hopefully since we've seen the biggest, seen the best, we will learn from this experience."

The Gators now turn their attention to their SEC opener next week against Tennessee. As if the rebuilding Vols didnt have enough problems facing the best team in college football next week, they lost to UCLA this weekend 19-15. And to make matters worse, theyve gone and made Florida mad. Specifically, a quote by new Vols coach Lane Kiffin which was is now taped to the Gators locker room wall. In the incendiary quote, Kiffin talked about Tennessee tradition as follows:

"I'm really looking forward to embracing some of the great traditions at the University of Tennessee, for instance the Vol Walk, running through the T, singing Rocky Top all night long after we beat Florida next year. It will be a blast."

So having losing badly in the previous two meetings between the teams, the Vols have managed to make it personal.

After hosting Tennessee next weekend in The Swamp, Florida will hit the SEC road the following week against the University of Kentucky. After a bye week theyll be back on the road for a tough contest against LSU on October 10th. Troy State will host UAB next weekend and play at Arkansas State on Saturday, September 26. - 31493

Cowboys Beat Bucs In NFL Opener For Both Teams

By Ross Everett

Tony Romo passed for a NFL career best 353 yards and threw three touchdown passes as the Dallas Cowboys got their 2009 season off to a good start with a 34-21 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Raheem Morris went down in defeat in his debut as Bucs head coach, while the Cowboys answered a lot of questions about how their receiving corps would respond to the absence of Terrell Owens, now with the Buffalo Bills.

The Cowboys easily covered the pointspread as -4 road favorites, and improved to 16-12 over the last three years when laying points. Tampa Bay dropped to 17-17 over the same timeframe as an underdog. The 55 combined points went OVER the posted total of 39.

After the game Roy Williams, who will be counted on to take up the slack from the loss of T.O., couldnt resist a wisecrack at his former teammates expense:

"Career-high passing yards? Without T.O? "No, it's good. It's good for him. It's good for this team. It was a team effort. Everybody contributed."

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said he wasnt surprised:

"They are playmakers, and we knew that going in. But until you do it, the naysayers are going to say: 'Hey. You don't have this or that.' But I think we do."

Romo, meanwhile, preferred to focus on the victory:

"You don't think about yards. You're not judged off of yards. You're judged off of winning and losing at this position."

Raheem Morris was still upbeat despite going down to defeat in his regular season NFL coaching debut:

"Obviously, we're disappointed. But there were a lot of good things on offense."

Perhaps the brightest silver lining in the dark cloud of the loss was the performance of Cadillac Williams. Williams appeared fully recovered from serious knee surgery and rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown.

Bucs cornerback Ronde Barber suggested that the final score didn't convey that his team played well:

"We had our chances. The final score is definitely not indicative of how good we played at times. Those big plays absolutely destroy you football team.

The Cowboys will open their season at their plush new $1 billion plus stadium this Sunday, hosting the New York Giants. Theyll remain at home the following week as they welcome the Carolina Panthers to Texas. The Bucs will head to upstate New York to face T.O and his new team, the Buffalo Bills. Theyll return to Florida the following week to take their turn hosting the New York Giants. - 31493

New England Wraps Up NFL Preseason With Win Over NY Giants

By Ross Everett

Undrafted Brian Hover played the entire game for the Patriots and may have earned himself a position as Tom Brady's backup with a solid all around performance as New England topped the New York Giants 38-27 in the NFL preseason finale for both clubs. Hover passed for 242 yards and no interceptions on 18 of 25 passing. The Patriots finished their NFL preseason slate at 3-1, while the Giants slumped to a 1-3 mark in exhibition play.

NFL football betting enthusiasts who took New England as +3 road underdogs cashed their tickets with the outright win. The 65 points put on the scoreboard well exceeded the posted total of 36.

Third string running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis rushed for three touchdowns and after the game praised Hovers play:

"Brian did a good job of controlling our offense. We mixed it up."

Green-Ellis had an impressive game himself, with 125 yards on 29 carries. Afterwards, Patriots coach Bill Belichick had terse but positive comments about his play:

"Ben does a lot of things for us going back to last year.

As well as the performance of QB Hover:

"Not bad. He handled the ball fairly well, threw it accurately."

The Giants biggest personnel decision at the moment is their third string QB, where Andre Woodson has the inside track despite a less than stellar performance. Afterwards, he gave his take on the game:

"It took me a while to get into my rhythm and it was the worst possible game to have that happen. Last year I knew I was going to be cut. ... This year is different. It's going to be tense."

Starting QB Eli Manning played one series and after the game summed up his teams mindset:

"I think everyone is ready for the season to get going and start playing for real.

The Giants will start playing for real next Sunday as they host the Washington Redskins in a NFC East battle. The Patriots will start their regular season next Monday night as they host the Buffalo Bills. - 31493

The World Cup will be one of the most exciting of course; as it comes rolling into the African continent for the first ever time. And to really get the best from the event, the people, the country and its rich culture, getting on with a package is certainly the way to go.

There are many types of packages, which are now widely available online. Though they do vary significantly, there is a certain basis that they will all follow. Flights from your starting point will be included of course, as will transfers to the hotel and the stadia, and of course the accommodation. By far the most important inclusion will be that all important match ticket of course.

This is for the most basic of packages of course, for just the one match at the group stage. There are more 2010 World Cup packages available of course; going right from the start to the final, but the cost will obviously rise considerably.

It is important to note that there will be FIFA imposed restrictions, and there will also be local restrictions controlling where bookings are made, and what team is to be followed. As such, some matches may not be immediately available.

At the very top of the range, there are also added extras. Excursions to one of the great safari parks will be amazing of course, whilst others may want to stay in a top hotel. New Orleans Wins First Superbowl In Franchise History

By Ross Everett

The New Orleans Saints used a 14 point fourth quarter to defeat the Indianapolis Colts 31-17 on Sunday to win their first Superbowl in franchise history. Drew Brees broke open a tight game midway through the final quarter with his touchdown pass to Jeremy Shockey, and Tracy Porter scored on a 74 yard interception return as the Colts were driving on the next series to secure the victory. Brees was named Superbowl MVP on the basis of his 288 yard, 2 touchdown, 0 interception performance.

After enthusiasts had come in early on the favored Colts, a good deal of buyback on the Saints had pushed the line to -4' and the New Orleans backers were enriched by their team's outright victory. The underdog has now covered three straight Superbowls and taken the money in five of the last seven games. The 48 points scored stayed well under the posted total of 57, which was the highest over/under number in Superbowl history.

In his postgame comments, a fabulously elated Brees gave much of the credit to the city of New Orleans:

"We play for so much more than ourselves. We played for our city. We played for the entire Gulf Coast region. We played for the entire Who Dat nation that has been behind us every step of the way. It means everything. We're here because of their strength and everything they fought through here the last few years. They've given us so much support, so we owe it all to our fans."

"Just to think of the road we've all traveled, the adversity we've all faced. It's unbelievable. I mean, are you kidding me? Four years ago, whoever thought this would be happening? Eighty-five percent of the city was under water. Most people left not knowing if New Orleans would ever come back, or if the organization would ever come back. We just all looked at one another and said, 'We're going to rebuild together. We are going to lean on each other.' That's what we've done the last four years and this is the culmination in all that belief."

Peyton Manning had little to say after the game particularly about the interception return that sealed the victory for New Orleans:

"Made a great play. Made a great play. Corner made a heck of a play. Certainly disappointing, very disappointing. Disappointing."

Saints' coach Sean Payton made a bold call at the beginning of the second half when he called for an onside kick. New Orleans linebacker Jonathan Casalis suggested it was a game changing play:

"We were really excited when he made the call. That changed everything."

Payton explained the diva-like decision:

"We're going to be aggressive. We'd seen the onside kick all week and guys executed it well. It turned out to be a big change of possession."

The city of New Orleans will celebrate their team's victory with a parade. With Mardi Gras celebrations already scheduled to begin shortly thereafter, it could be quite some time before New Orleans returns to business as usual. Add New Orleans to cities like Miami, Bar Harbour, Palm Springs and Fire Island as must see spots for any fabulous football fan on the go. - 31493
