The Most Accomplished Quarterbacks In Football Square Off At The Super Bowl

By Michael Lomax

If you were to ask a football fan to name the best two quarterbacks in the league, you'd likely be told that Drew Brees and Peyton Manning earn this distinction. Through the course of the season, these two players led their teams to many wins, and ultimately the Super Bowl.

It should be fitting that the two of them will square off during the final game of the year. Both of them had what many believed to be career years, and more importantly, both of these teams were seen as the best in their respective conferences to start things off.

These have both been great teams throughout the year. In fact, they were the last two teams to lose a regular season game and many were predicting undefeated years for both of them after they remained undefeated well into December.

Neither the Colts nor the Saints finished out the season without a loss. In fact, each team lost two games, each for their own reasons. Still, this was enough to secure home field advantage, which clearly helped to secure a Super Bowl berth for each team.

When Indianapolis and New Orleans meet up with one another, fans will all agree about the fact that the winner will probably come down to the team with the more effective quarterback.

This is different from the last few Super Bowl meetings we've seen. If you look at the previous two winners in the Steelers and Giants, both teams won the game on the heels of a strong defense.

This year, it looks like offense is the name of the game. While each team has an efficient defense that is largely responsible for the team's success, it really comes to down to each quarterback's poise, precision, and hunger on the field.

This may very well be one of the highest scoring Super Bowls we've seen in recent years. As great as defensive battles can be, this will be an extremely refreshing change from the usual. - 31493
